Monument of the Old Site of the Confucius Temple of Qing Taipei
In April 1983, the Taipei City Literature Committee (now the Taipei City Archives) erected the "Old Site of the Confucius Temple of Qing Taipei" (清臺北府文廟舊址)and "Old Site of the Martial Temple of Qing Taipei" (清臺北府武廟舊址)monuments along both sides of the sidewalk on Chongqing South Road(重慶南路), to witness the historical context of the development of these temples.
The Martial Temple monument is located next to the Ministry of Justice (at the entrance of Lane 126, Chongqing South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City), while the Confucius Temple monument is situated beside the wall of the former Taipei Municipal Normal School (now the Bo'ai Campus of National Taipei University) on the sidewalk of Chongqing South Road.
On May 18, 2023, a site inspection was conducted, and the following day, May 19, the wall of National Taipei University collapsed, damaging the "Old Site of the Confucius Temple of Qing Taipei" monument. As of June 2024, the monument has been re-established in a double-sided format, with a ceremony for unveiling scheduled for September 5, 2024.
